Anyone want to start a club?

I'm in agreement with Brendyn who earlier today said:

"Oh, and I wish I could start a "Down with IE" fanclub, because I hate it. It ruins my designs by having to use all sorts of stupid php and javascript logic to output different things based on browser types."

I personally feel that IE has now taken Netscape 4's old position as the boat anchor being dragged behind the internet. So yeah lets start a badge campaign to complain about the lack of development/innovation in Internet Explorer.

I suggest we call the new organization D.A.S.I.E. (Designers Against Stagnate Internet Explorer).

What do you guys think?

The Disturbing Trend in Browsers

Todd Dominey has some salient points to make about Microsoft's latest moves in the Browser market.

What is most disturbing about the two bits of Internet Explorer-related news isn’t the Mac story, but Microsoft’s Windows strategy, and the impact it will have on web standards and the progress of web development technologies.

If IE truly does become an OS-only product, then the common web request of “Please upgrade your web browser” will become completely irrelevant. Instead, web developers will have to politely ask, “Please get in your car, drive to Comp USA, and purchase the latest, greatest version of the Windows operating system.” Ass-backwards technological progress.

Internet Explorer

Daring Fireball has an interesting Round-up of links on the death of Mac IE.

"The announcement that Mac IE is dead is not surprising. Why? Don’t look for the answer in statements from Microsoft PR. Instead, use the advice Deep Throat gave Woodward and Bernstein: Follow the money." [Daring Fireball]
