Dasie's are for Peace, not war.

This is in responce to all the feedback Dave Winer via Scripting News sent my way. ":)"

I'm not against IE at all. If it looked like it would make a little progress in the near future in areas like better font management (sizing), 32bit PNG support, and even better CSS, then I would be the first to recommend it as a GO-TO browser. But its lack of meaningful updates concerns me. Especially since as a designer, I am anxiously awaiting alpha-channeled PNG support.

I can see a future where people will be able to select a theme for their blog, then simply make changes to items like the background pattern or color, and the images will be able to adjust to the new look. Imagine drop-shadows that look good on white, gray, blue, or plaid. The only browser at this point in the way of this utopian dream is IE of Windows. The fact that IE for the Mac was the first to deliver full PNG support, 3 years ago, make the sting even sharper.

What we need is a campaign to show IE users what cool technologies they are missing out on. Hopefully this will inundate Microsoft with feature requests. If Microsoft is as good of a listener as then say they are then the updates we need will come quickly. If not then Mozilla Firebird is an excellent browser and a slip in IE's market share might be the motivation Microsoft need to update IE.
